Integral Bonnet Needle Valves
Integral bonnet needle valves serve instrument and general-purpose metering duty where frequent packing maintenance is unwelcome: the bonnet is part of the body, and live-loaded chevron packing holds the stem seal through high cycles and dynamic temperature and pressure swings. The range covers working pressure up to 6000 psig, -40°C to 315°C service, bodies in 316 SS, Alloy 400 or brass, chrome-plated 316 SS vee-type or PCTFE soft-seal stem tips, and straight or angle patterns in sizes 1/8 to 1/2 in. Selection turns on the required Cv versus orifice size, stem-tip type for shut-off versus throttling, and body material against the media. Multi-source references add the operating frame: fine-thread precision regulation (many turns to retract the plunger, long axial travel converting to small radial change), calibrated low-flow metering duty, the long tapered needle geometry, bar-stock versus globe-style bodies, generic O-ring/TFE and packing-cylinder styles, precise low-flow control for instrumentation, calibration and metering, gradual tapered-stem regulation in contrast to on/off ball and gate designs, reference trim of cold-worked 316 SS bodies with glass-filled PTFE packing and 17-4 PH stems, reference envelopes to 60,000 psig MAWP and 1,200°F on dedicated series, vibration-resistant preload-locking packing-gland threads, bi-directional flow, and quick-turn executions that lift the stem over 2x faster to extend seat life.

Family specifications
| pressure class | Up to 6000 psig |
|---|---|
| temperature range | -40°C to 315°C (-40° to 600°F) |
| packing | Live-Loaded PTFE and PEEK chevron packing |
| stem tip | Chrome-plated 316 SS vee-type, PCTFE soft-seal |
| body materials | 316 SS, Alloy 400, brass |
| patterns | Straight, Angle |
| end connections | Duolok tube end, Unilok tube end, Griplok tube end, NPT pipe end, BSPT pipe end |
| end connection sizes | 1/8 to 1/2 in. (6 to 8 mm Duolok only) |
| fine thread precision | Fine-threaded screw takes many turns to retract the plunger, making precise flow-rate regulation easy; long axial travel converts to small precise radial change |
| metering duty | Used in flow-metering duty where a constant, calibrated, low flow rate must be maintained over time |
| needle geometry | Long, tapered, needle-like point on the stem end is the distinguishing feature |
| body designs | Bar-stock bodies are common; in globe-type builds a ball swivels in the body |
| stem packing styles | Two generic stem-packing styles: an O-ring with TFE backing rings, or a TFE packing cylinder; replaceable seats ease maintenance |
| precision faq | Precise flow control in low-flow applications for instrumentation, calibration and metering systems |
| fine regulation vs onoff | Unlike ball or gate valves designed for on/off control, needle valves give fine flow regulation through gradual tapered-stem adjustment |
| industries | Oil and gas, pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratory systems, hydraulic and pneumatic applications |
| body material options ref | 316 SS standard at reference executions, with carbon steel, brass and Alloy 400 options |
| trim materials ref | Reference trim: 316 cold-worked stainless steel body, glass-filled PTFE packing, 17-4 PH stem |
| mawp hp series ref | Reference executions reach MAWP up to 60,000 psig (4136 bar) on high-pressure series |
| temp rating ref | Reference NPT-execution rating: -100°F to 600°F (-73°C to 316°C); series solutions span pressure to 10,000 psi and temperatures up to 1,200°F |
| end connections ref | Reference end connections: male/female NPT, tube fittings, ISO threads from 1/8 in. up |
| integral bonnet series ref | Integral-bonnet construction is offered as a dedicated series at reference executions (NV and SV integral-bonnet lines alongside union-bonnet and high-pressure lines) |
| vibration resistant gland | Packing-gland/body thread interface uses a preload locking internal thread form resistant to vibration, eliminating external locking devices |
| bidirectional flow | Bi-directional flow capability simplifies system designs |
| quick turn option ref | Quick-turn executions lift the stem off the seat over 2x faster, reducing throttling and increasing seat life, with fewer than half the turns to full open |
Scope & source notes
| pressure envelope | Pressure envelope: reference series reach 10,000 psi ratings and 60,000 psig MAWP on high-pressure builds, while the tenant page caps at 6000 psig - the tenant sits in the low/mid segment of the referenced envelope. |
|---|---|
| temperature envelope | Temperature envelope: reference NPT executions rate -100°F to 600°F (-73°C to 316°C) and series solutions reach 1,200°F, versus the tenant -40°C to 315°C band - the tenant excludes the cryogenic -73°C execution segment. |
| packing style | Packing style: the referenced trim uses glass-filled PTFE packing with a preload-locking gland thread, while the tenant specifies live-loaded PTFE/PEEK chevron packing - live loading versus preload thread locking are different anti-vibration approaches. |
Ordering & documentation
Documents
Ask for the documentation set with the inquiry — typical items (material certificates, test reports to the listed inspection standard, dimensional drawings) are confirmed and supplied with the quotation.
Quotation
Send the medium, temperature, pressure, size and connection for a quotation-ready inquiry. Lead time, MOQ and price are confirmed at quotation, together with the documents to be supplied with the order.
Sample & supply
Supply terms, order quantities and lead time are agreed per order — state the destination country and required schedule with the inquiry.
Storage & shipping
Store valves with seats and seals protected from UV, ozone and deformation, and keep end-face protectors on until installation; storage limits and shipping arrangements for the selected materials are confirmed at quotation.
