Forged Steel Gate Valves
Forged steel gate valves are the compact small-bore isolation valve of process piping: forging gives a denser grain structure than casting at DN50 and below, which is why Class 800 to 2500 small-bore lines spec forged bodies. The series covers DN8 to DN50 at Class 800 to Class 2500 in A105, F22, F304L and F316L, with A276 seat rings, F6/F304/F316 stems, graphite or PTFE packing and butt-weld, socket-weld or flanged ends. Design and manufacture are per API 602, BS 5352 and ASME B16.34 with testing to API 598; the published dimension tables give reduced-port and full-port bore, length, height and weight by size at Class 800, so line layout can be checked before selection is finalized.
