Is SS304 the right body material for my medium?
SS304 (CF8 cast equivalent on the bonnet and disc) is the general-purpose stainless for water, steam, and a wide range of chemicals at moderate temperature. It is not the choice for chloride-rich media, where pitting drives selection to SS316 or duplex grades — the same benchmark family exists in an SS316 execution.
