Why choose a wafer body over a flanged ball valve?
A wafer body is clamped between the line flanges instead of carrying them, so the valve body is much shorter and lighter - the benchmark execution spans DN15 to DN150 in that compact envelope. The trade is that the valve depends on the mating flanges and stud bolts; it cannot be used where a through-bolted body is needed for end-of-line isolation.
