Build-to-Spec and Non-Standard Valve Requirements
Last updated: 2026-10
Not every requirement reads off a catalog page: a jacketed body for a solidifying medium, a special trim material for corrosive service, a flange drilling that matches legacy piping, a face-to-face length an old installation forces. This service takes requirements outside the published lines to quotation through our production and outsourced-manufacturing network.
The supply model is the same one behind the catalog — own production plus managed outsourcing — so "non-standard" does not mean "out of scope". What it does mean is that every parameter is quotation-confirmed: feasibility, materials, price and lead time are answers, not assumptions.
1. Service scope
- Configuration changes to catalog designs: special body or trim materials, non-standard end connections and flange drillings, extended or reduced face-to-face lengths where manufacturable.
- Design variants around catalog families: jacketed bodies, special seating, modified stems or operators where the base design supports them.
- Documentation-first handling: your drawing or specification clause defines the target; the quotation answers against it line-by-line rather than substituting "equivalent".
2. Applicable conditions
- You can supply a drawing, data sheet or written specification defining the non-standard requirement — build-to-spec needs a defined target.
- Quantity justifies manufacture: one-off modifications of commodity valves are often better answered by a standard line plus a documented deviation — we will say so when it is.
- Requirements stay within industrial valve manufacture; this service does not cover repairs or reconditioning of used valves.
3. Limitations
- No published capability envelope: maximum size, pressure class and material range for non-standard work are not confirmed for this site, so nothing on this page promises them — each requirement is answered at quotation.
- Non-standard does not mean untested-by-evidence: where a claimed capability has no line behind it yet, the quotation distinguishes confirmed manufacture from a proposal.
- Standards conformance of a modified design (e.g. a jacketed valve against its base standard) is checked against the governing edition; modifications can move a design out of a standard's scope — that is stated, not hidden.
4. Required inputs
| Input | Detail |
|---|---|
| Definition document | Drawing (PDF/step), data sheet or written clause defining dimensions, materials, ends and any testing requirement. |
| Quantity and schedule | Pieces per size and the delivery date the project needs, for a real feasibility answer. |
| Governing standard | Which standard the modified valve must still satisfy, if any — this shapes what is manufacturable. |
5. Deliverables
- A quotation answering the requirement line-by-line: what is confirmed manufacturable, at what specification values, price and lead time.
- Where the answer is "standard line plus deviation", the deviation stated in writing rather than absorbed silently.
- A feasibility gap statement where the requirement cannot be met — with what part of it cannot, specifically.
6. Verified capabilities and unconfirmed boundaries
Capabilities this service can verify today:
- A fulfillment path that is not capped by one factory's standard range: own production plus outsourced manufacturing is the confirmed model behind every line on this site.
- The same specification-matching discipline as catalog supply: any non-standard answer is traceable to a defined requirement, not to a substitution.
Not yet confirmed for publication — answered at quotation, never estimated:
- Manufacturing capability facts for non-standard work — size and class ceilings, special-material sourcing, prototype lead times, drawing/NDA handling terms — are confirmed at quotation for your specific requirement.
7. Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum complexity or quantity for build-to-spec inquiries?
There is no published minimum — the honest answer depends on the modification and the quantity, which is exactly what the quotation works out. For small quantities the realistic answer is often a standard line with a documented deviation, and we will propose that when it serves you better.
How do you handle proprietary drawings?
Drawings arrive as inquiry content through the same form and email path covered by the privacy notice, which describes exactly what is collected and retained. Longer-term NDA terms are part of commercial confirmation, not something this page asserts in advance.
Can you modify a valve we already own, or supply spare parts for it?
No — this service covers the manufacture of new valves to a defined specification, not the repair or reconditioning of used valves and not parts distribution for third-party equipment. If your requirement is really "replace this legacy valve with something that fits", that we can take: it becomes a build-to-spec or standard-line-plus-deviation answer against the installed dimensions.
8. Request a quotation
Send the inputs listed in section 4 — duty, standard and class (if any), size and count, materials, end connection and destination — and we reply with the matching line and price.
